When starting to prepare to write a UCAS Personal Statement, it is important to make sure you have understood the main points that you will need to do.
- The personal statement is up to 4,000 characters or 47 lines of text. It’s important to remember that this includes spaces and blank lines.
- Write in English
- Make sure your grammar, spelling and punctuation is correct.
- Consider which skills and qualities the universities or colleges you are applying to value most.
- Do not copy somebody’s UCAS Personal Statement! It’s incredibly important that what you do is not copied from anybody else.
With these points in mind, you will be ready to start your UCAS personal statement. See our guide for how to approach your first draft.
